A close call for a Tulsa woman overnight when part of a bridge fell on her van Thursday night.
The woman was on the Turner Turnpike at Highway 18 when a part of the bridge caved in as she drove underneath it. That sent a hailstorm of concrete and asphalt to the highway below.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Lateka Anderson "It hit the top of her van, windshield, and her hood, and did some pretty good damage, hug? She's lucky she wasn't seriously injured or killed? That's right."
The woman was able to drive her van to Tulsa. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says this kind of bridge damage is not uncommon after severe ice storms.
They spent most of the night patching the hole.
