More TB tests ordered for Oologah High School students

Updated:
The Oologah-Talala School district plans to test all its students for Tuberculosis after three confirmed cases of the disease, and one unconfirmed case.

The school district started testing in November, after the first student tested positive. Since then, 44 students have tested positive for the non-contagious form of TB. They'll all need treatment and in two weeks, all the students in the district will be tested.

The treatment for tuberculosis in either form is a six-month regiment of antibiotics, which health officials say is completely effective in stopping this disease.

The district has 1,700 students, 500 have been tested so far.
