SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Kevin Johnson scored 24 points and Greg Harrington added 20 to lead Tulsa to a 82-72 win over San Jose State on Saturday.
The Golden Hurricane (23-5, 14-3 Western Athletic) are in second place behind league-leading Hawaii.
The last-place Spartans (8-20, 3-13) collapsed in the final four minutes.
After pulling to within four points of the lead at 74-70 on a basket by Marion Thurmond and a pair of free throws by Brandon Hawkins, Tulsa ran off eight unanswered points, seven by Harrington, to take an 82-70 lead with a minute remaining.
A pair of Spartan turnovers and two steals by the Golden Hurricane kept the Tulsa streak going.
San Jose State took a 39-38 halftime lead on a three-pointer by Moises Alvarez at the buzzer. Thurmond sank seven of his first 10 shots to keep the Spartan offense in gear.
Hawkins led the Spartans with 20 points, Thurmond had 18, and David Granucci led all rebounders with nine for San Jose State. Dante Swanson contributed 13 for Tulsa.
