(St. Louis) - St. Louis Rams wide receiver Ricky Proehl plans to return for another season, but it may not be with the Rams.
Proehl's agent, Alan Herman, tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the receiver will definitely play next season. Proehl is due to become an unrestricted free agent Friday unless resigned by the Rams before then.
Herman says he's advising Proehl to test the market. He says he has had a few brief discussions with the Rams, but no significant negotiations.
Proehl caught 40 passes for 563 yards and five touchdowns last season.
Another Rams receiver, Az-Zahir Hakim, is scheduled for unrestricted free agency, and many don't expect him to return.
