KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Tari Cummings scored 17 points to lead a balanced attack as Oklahoma State beat Texas A&M 92-76 on Tuesday in the first round of the Big 12 Conference women's tournament.
Oklahoma State (16-14) outscored the Aggies 28-8 in the final 6:27 of the first half behind 12 points by Thia Willis to take a 55-38 halftime lead.
Oklahoma State maintained a comfortable lead throughout most of the second half, before Texas A&M (13-16) put on a late spurt to cut it to 79-73 with 3:35 left.
The Cowgirls concluded the second half with a 13-0 run, opening their biggest lead of the game at 92-73 before Mindy Garrison hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer.
Oklahoma State had six players in double figures. Trisha Skibbe and Willis each scored 16, Terrisha Osborn and Shelby Hutchens each had 12 and Nikki Lawrence added 11.
Cummings led the Cowgirls with 11 rebounds and Osborn had 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
Kim Moore led Texas A&M with 26 points, Toccara Williams added 19 and LaToya Rose had 10 points. Williams also had nine assists.
Oklahoma State next faces top-seeded No. 4 Oklahoma on Wednesday. Oklahoma won both games during the regular season.
