Mayor's job fair helping local residents find work

Tulsa's jobless rate may have dropped a little Friday, thanks to the Mayor's Job Program Adult Job Fair.

More than 60 businesses set up shop in the Tulsa Convention Center, ready to hire, recruit and help people who need jobs. This is the 14th year for the Mayor's Job Fair, but this is the first year that it's been open to adults. Job Fair director, Brad Brooks, "Up until this year we just finished on the young people because of September 11th we wanted to give a service to the adults as well."

Tulsa resident, Lisa Jones, " I got laid off from Nordam back in September, so I have been looking for five months now.”

The youth job fair is being held Saturday at the Tulsa Convention Center. It's open to youth age 16 to 21. The event starts at nine and runs until one.
