Scenic river designation sought

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Honey Creek, which flows into Grand Lake in Delaware County, would be designated a state scenic river under a bill passed Wednesday by the Oklahoma Senate.

``There are many poultry operations in the area of Honey Creek and it is the intent of this legislation to help protect the water against pollution from those sources,'' said Sen. Kevin Easley, D-Broken Arrow.

If approved by the House and signed into law by Gov. Frank Keating, Honey Creek would join six other designated scenic rivers in Oklahoma.
