Creek Nation Trying to Revitalize Native Languages

OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) _ The Creek Nation is trying to revitalize the Maskoke and Euchee languages through radio and newsprint.

The tribe's communications department has launched an effort to provide radio broadcasts and newsprint in the two languages.

The tribe is now accepting nominations to fill 11 positions on the language committee of the communications department.

Nominees must be able to speak or read and write one of the two languages.
