(Norman, Oklahoma - AP) _ The 5th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners suffered an upset six days ago at the hands of cross-state rival Oklahoma State.
They don't want another surprise Monday night at home against Texas Tech.
Oklahoma is 11-and-3 for the season and 2-and-1 in Big 12 Conference play after a 70-to-60 victory yesterday over Iowa State.
Texas Tech, fresh off an easy 80-to-64 victory over Baylor on Saturday, will go to Norman needing just two victories to get career win number 799 for coach Bobby Knight.
The Red Raiders are led by Andre Emmett, the conference's leading scorer at 21-point-4 points per game. Emmett scored 18 points against Baylor despite being on the bench for the game's first six minutes. He's in Knight's doghouse. The coach says if Emmett doesn't play consistently good defense, he won't play.
Oklahoma and Texas Tech split their two games last season. The Sooners won 98-72 in Norman and the Red Raiders won 92-to-79 in Lubbock.
