Churches in Tulsa remember shuttle astronauts

Both Americans and Israelis are devastated by Saturday's tragedy. In Tulsa, many took time out to pay their respects to the seven-crew members who perished.

“May God grant peace and eternal life and the families peace in this time of tragedy." Parishioners at Holy Family Cathedral had a moment of silence for the crewmembers during Sunday's morning mass.

Across town at the Jewish Community Center, a picture of the first Israeli astronaut to go into space Ilan Ramon is posted along with a picture of the entire crew. Itzik Levin with the Tulsa Jewish Federation says the loss of his nation's hero is devastating. 'I talked immediately to my Israeli friends who lived here and my family in Israel and my mom couldn't speak to me at that moment. It was very sad."

Condolence books have been placed at several funeral homes throughout town for mourners to sign. The books will be given to the victim's families.
