NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ University of Oklahoma senior guard Hollis Price is one of 30 candidates for the John R. Wooden Award.
The award named for former UCLA coach John Wooden is given each year to the nation's best college basketball player who also proves he's making progress toward graduation.
Price ranks second in the Big 12 in scoring with an average of 19.2 points per game. He also averages 3.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
Other Big 12 players on the list are Nick Collison and Kirk Hinrich of Kansas, T-J Ford of Texas and Andre Emmett of Texas Tech.
The Wooden Award ceremony will be April 12th at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
