(Tulsa-AP) -- New Tulsa football coach Steve Kragthorpe says he's signed some talented players despite playing catch-up in recruiting.
Kragthorpe signed 21 new players plus a transfer from West Virginia. Tulsa's class has 18 high-schoolers and three junior college players.
Kragthorpe was hired December 18th and didn't take over at Tulsa until after the Buffalo Bills' season ended about two weeks later. That gave him about a month to get players other schools had been recruiting for about a year.
Owasso quarterback Paul Smith and Edmond Santa Fe receiver Roland Garrett are among the players Tulsa signed.
