Soft drink fee being considered to help Oklahoma's budget woes

Updated:
Enjoying a cold soft drink may soon cost a bit more, but that small fee would add millions of dollars to ailing state budget coffers.

State Representative Jerry Ellis has drafted House Bill 1332. It would place a small fee on all soft drinks or ingredients manufactured for consumption in Oklahoma.

Ellis says if the measure is signed into law this session, Oklahoma could be generating revenue from the proposed fee by 2004.
