Number of Oklahoma traffic fatalities are down so far this year

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The number of people killed in traffic accidents is down for the year and during the month of February.

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety says 55 people have died in car crashes so far in 2003, down 13 from the 68 who had died in crashes during the same period last year.

A total of 18 people have been killed on the state's roadways so far in February, down by four from the same date in 2002.
