An Oklahoma State Senator took on the role of principal for a day Friday. Senator Nancy Riley walked the halls of Jenks High School to see firsthand the problems facing educators.
She toured the high school with Principal Mike Means, and sat-in on classes. Senator Riley was an elementary teacher in Tulsa before jumping to politics. "Today, I'm spending the day, or the morning with Principal Means and finding out what it is to deal with high school students in every aspect. The joys, the woes, the frustrations, the transportation delays. The, just everything that would run the gammit, from teacher problems to frustrations in the classroom, lack of supplies."
Jenks hopes the principal for a day program becomes an annual event.
