Police investigating shootings in Oklahoma City metro area

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Police were investigating the shootings of three people in the metropolitan area.

Two men were wounded in the first shooting, which occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday in southwest Oklahoma City, said Oklahoma City police Lt. Daimon Alexander. He said the victims were reluctant to talk to police.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals.

Another shooting happened about 4:20 p.m. when a man playing basketball was hit in the leg by bullet fragments, Bethany Police Chief Neal Troutman said.

The victim said he was playing basketball when a black Chevrolet Tahoe pulled up. A man got out and fired several rounds into the pavement around the basketball player.

A bullet fragment ricocheted off the pavement and hit the man in the hip.

He was treated and released from a local hospital.
