(Undated-AP) -- The state Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry has issued a Red Flag Fire Alert across most of the state.
The department says hot, windy and dry conditions have returned, increasing the danger of fire.
Oklahoma Forestry Services recommends extra precautions be used with all outdoor burning. The agency says fires could ignite easily, spread quickly and be difficult to control.
It also recommends not burning anything outdoors when the wind exceeds 20 miles per hour.
The Red Flag Alert is in effect over all but the extreme southeast tip of the state.
