Area high school grads headed to the US Marines

Many graduates across northeastern Oklahoma are ready to trade in their caps and gowns for boot camp.

They're looking to the future as US Marines. For Dusty Hardison and Ryan Stane, this isn't a decision they made lightly.

They say their love of freedom and our country led them to join the Marine Corps, despite the dangers they'll face overseas.

Dusty Hardison: "As a Marine, it's a brotherhood. You don't want to see any of your brothers get sent over there, but when you're needed you have to do what you have to do."

Ryan Stane: "There's no fear going through my heart or thoughts at all. I don't think there will be. I'm not afraid to do the right thing."

Both Hardison and Stane are just 18 years old. They'll both go to San Diego for basic training.
