OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Former Oklahoma Gov. Henry Bellmon was listed in good condition Wednesday at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, where he has been undergoing medical tests, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Bellmon, 82, went to the hospital Monday after experiencing some discomfort earlier in the day, said his wife, Eloise Bellmon.
She said he was expected to be released Wednesday. Hospital spokeswoman Mary Harris said she could not give out any further information about Bellmon's condition or when he might be released.
Bellmon, 82, became the first Republican governor of Oklahoma in 1963, when he began the first of two terms.
Bellmon served as governor until 1967 and was elected to the U.S. Senate the following year. He was re-elected in 1974 and chose not to seek a third term in 1980.
Six years later, Bellmon was elected to his second term as governor. He served until 1991 and again chose not to seek re-election.
