Tulsa police need your help finding the suspects who killed a convenience store clerk early Saturday morning.
Detectives say 32 year old Andrew Panheiro is the the city's 21st homicide victim this year.. the third to be gunned down at the same east Tulsa store. Tulsa police were called out to the Lucky Trip store at 41st & 129th after a report of a shooting.
Sgt Mike Huff with Tulsa's Homicide division says it appears through our investigation that a dark complected male subject entered the store around 3-10 this morning made a comment to the store attendant then shot him once. The gentleman died at the scene. According to witnesses, the suspects took off northbound in a white, late model S-U-V.
Patrol officers located an S-U-V, still warm, at a nearby apartment complex which matched witnesses' description of the suspects' vehicle, but police say that vehicle and it's owners were not involved.
This Lucky Trip is the same store where a clerk and a customer were shot almost two years ago. Wesley Jones was the triggerman in that killing.
He's on death row for the double murder of Mohammed Rahaman and Sterling Mullis back in September 2002. Rahaman, who was the owner at the time, was shot three times.
Mullis, a customer who tried to help him, was shot in the head.
Murtaza Ali, who worked for Rahaman, is serving time in jail for being an accessory to murder. Police say Ali provided the gun, a sweatshirt, and drove the getaway car.
They're not sure if both crimes are connected, but like 2002 murder, police hope surveillance video will help them catch the suspects before they strike again. Police are looking for at least three suspects in this shooting. The gunman is described as a young hispanic male with short hair or a shaved head. The suspects were last seen going northbound in a white, late model four-door S-U-V. Call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS if you have any information in this crime.
