There is a new Miss Oklahoma. 22 year-old OSU graduate Elizabeth Kinney was awarded the crown over the weekend.
She says she plans to use her newfound "celebrity status" to make a difference in the state. Elizabeth Kinney: "I am just so excited about the Miss Oklahoma program, and so many people don't realize that it's still an active part of society, they don't realize that Miss Oklahoma is here in the state working to make a difference. So, I just want to use the "celebrity status," if you will to be visible in Oklahoma."
Kinney says she hopes to work with food banks and state lawmakers to solve Oklahoma's hunger problem.
