Traffic deaths in Oklahoma down 40% for July

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The number of people killed in traffic accidents in Oklahoma is down about 40% so far this month.

The state Department of Public Safety says 20 people have died in crashes this month, compared to 34 at this time in July 2003.

For the year, 424 people have died on Oklahoma roads, compared with 343 at this time last year.
