Battle for control of Oklahoma House getting national attention

Updated:
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ The battle for control of the Oklahoma House of Representatives is considered one of the top ten election battlegrounds in the nation.

A conference of state lawmakers meeting in Salt Lake City says Oklahoma could become part of a changing political landscape if Republicans take control of the House.

Democrats have held the majority in the Oklahoma House since the 1920s, but a shift of three seats would give the GOP the majority.

There are 36 open seats in the state House. Party primaries are Tuesday.
