Oklahoma watermelons going to nation's Capitol

RUSH SPRINGS, Okla. (AP) _ About 150 Oklahoma watermelons are heading to the nation's Capitol.

State Representative Joe Dornan of says each U-S Senator will be given a melon grown at Rush Springs. All five Oklahoma congressmen and key members of the U-S House will also receive a melon.

Dornan says he hopes to find a way to get a melon to President Bush.

Dornan says he got the idea of sending the melons while talking with Senator Jim Inhofe about promoting Oklahoma-grown products.

Rush Springs will hold its annual watermelon festival on August 14th.
