A follow-up story the News on 6 brought you last month about a Tulsa bar owner's death. Shawn Howard's family says they want to set the record straight.

Howard was the owner of the Deadtown Tavern. He was beaten to death during a fight with a homeless man, Terry Badgewell.

DA Tim Harris said Badgewell acted in self-defense, but Howard's family wants Harris to press charges. Shawnâ€™s mother, Kay Howard, says they don't want Shawn to be remembered as a violent aggressor. "This is a black mark on his memory and it's real hurtful to us. And it's just not Shawn's nature, there's nothing he wouldn't do for his friends, his family, no matter what."

The News on 6 tried to contact DA Tim Harris Tuesday. He was not available for comment.
