A former Tulsa doctor convicted of molesting a little girl was in court Tuesday.
James Loerke's attorney said his client was going through therapy and was a good candidate for probation.
The prosecutor and the victim's family strongly argued against changing Loerke's 20-year prison sentence because of the horrible nature of the crime. They also pointed out that Loerke is already violating the judge's order to have no contact with the victim by sending her letters and gifts from prison.
Judge Caroline Wall decided to modify Loerke's sentence down to 15 years in prison with five years probation. She said that would allow Loerke to be supervised once released.
