Body found along I-40 in Oklahoma may be connected to string of murders

A 23-year old known prostitute is dead and investigators believe her murder could be the latest in a string of more than a dozen prostitutes murdered across five states.

Investigators say this murder is different, yet similar to almost a dozen murders we've seen. All of the women were prostitutes, most with links to Oklahoma. The women all turned up dead, in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, possibly Indiana and Pennsylvania. Investigators believe it could be the work of a truck driver.

Another truck driver found Taddemika McHenry's body Saturday morning. The 23-year-old is a known prostitute from Oklahoma City.

McHenry was last seen alive at this Flying-J truck stop off of I-40 and Morgan Road. About seven hours later and 50-miles away, a truck driver discovered McHenry’s body at a rest stop off of I-40 near Clinton.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokesperson Jessica Brown says she was stabbed to death. “This does not fit into the mo of the other women who were killed; it doesn't mean that it isn't the same person or people who are doing it.”

McHenry is the first African American victim, in the string of murders. All of the other prostitutes were Native American or white.
