Standoff in McIntosh County ends with arrests

Updated:
A McIntosh County family facing felony charges are behind bars. The suspects had been living in Oklahoma for several months until bounty hunters from Georgia tracked them down.

The News on 6's Heather Lewin was there for the arrest in Hitchita, Oklahoma. Witness

Sherri Ward: “There was a shot fired, that's what I heard, there was a lot commotion going on." The shot came from a travel trailer when deputies tried to serve an arrest warrant.

As tactical teams arrived, just two blocks away the Hitchita School was evacuated. The students were bussed out of town.

After a near 4 hour standoff, Tony Webb, his wife Teresa and their son Mickey surrendered. Friend Norma Bird: "He would not come out, he wanted to talk to his family first cause he knows he’s not gonna get to see them for a long time."

The Webbs moved in behind a Hitchita home about 5 months ago. Friends and neighbors describe Tony Webb as a nice guy, the kind who'd do anything for you. Apparently the family was just blending in with the community, until the street filled with police.

Tony Webb is wanted on several charges including burglary, assault, weapons possession and cruelty to a child. His wife and son are wanted for jumping bail. Sherri Ward: "You never know about anyone these days."

All three were also arrested Friday for shooting with intent to kill. Investigators are still trying to determine which one fired the shot.

Neighbors tell the News on 6, Tony Webb recently reported a stolen motorcycle to police. It's possible that's how the bounty hunters tracked him down.
