OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate Brad Carson announced a plan Tuesday that he said will create thousands of new jobs in central Oklahoma.
Carson vowed to work to increase federal funding for the capital city's health research facilities, get 100 percent of highway taxes returned to the state, ease the health care burden on businesses and individuals, increase support for Tinker Air Force Base and build up the area's Career Tech programs.
``I'm proud to put forth a plan for the Oklahoma City area that I will aggressively, every single day, fight for in the United States Senate to make a reality,'' Carson said.
His plan was endorsed by Gov. Brad Henry, a fellow Democrat.
Henry said Carson's plan would create a better environment for businesses to thrive.
