State prisoners involved in Oklahoma City traffic accident

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A driver and four state prisoners are recovering from injuries they received when the van they were in hit three vehicles and crashed into a southeast Oklahoma City business.

Police say an Avalon Correctional Services van driven by Donahue Bowens crashed into a vehicle parked in front of Crossland's A-and-A Rent-All and Sales Company.

Police say the right front tire of the van blew out before it spun out of control. The van hit two other parked cars before crashing into the building.

Bowens was treated and released from a city hospital. The injured prisoners were Willie Frazier, Derrick Johnson, Jobe Fields the Third, and Carlos Tecumseh. All were taken to a city hospital for treatment.

Police say the van was delivering the prisoners to a work release program.
