More and more communities seeing traffic jams

It's not just a big city problem anymore. Traffic jams are keeping drivers waiting behind the wheel in small and medium cities too.

An annual report from transportation researchers finds that in the 85 biggest US cities, snarled traffic is costing travelers 3.5-billion hours a year. That's five times the number of hours spent in traffic just two decades ago.

The biggest jump in traffic congestion came in Dallas, Texas. In 1982, drivers there spent 13 hours a year in traffic. In 2002, they spent 61 hours a year.

Tulsa area drivers, spend on average, 14 hours a year in traffic jams.
