OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State health officials say 15 cases of a respiratory virus often seen before flu outbreaks have been reported in Oklahoma.

Known as respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, the virus can spread quickly among young children in close quarters. RSV is the No. 1 cause of pneumonia and lower-respiratory infections in children under a year old.

So far this fall there have been six confirmed cases of influenza type A in Oklahoma, and two confirmed cases of influenza type B.
