POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) Florida authorities say there are likely no survivors after two small planes collided over the Everglades.
Authorities believe there was only one person on board a Piper aircraft, but they have no information yet on how many people were aboard the second plane. No bodies have been recovered.
Officials say the area where the planes crashed is accessible only by airboat and that the wreckage quickly sank. They say recovery will continue until dark and resume at daybreak.
The Piper was registered to a Pennsylvania man, although there's no guarantee the man was on board the craft. The pilot of the second plane didn't file a flight plan.
