OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma City man is arrested Saturday morning after a confrontation during which police say he attacked two officers with nunchucks after they responded to a call about a domestic incident.
Police say two officers responded to a call at a far north Oklahoma City apartment complex about 4 a.m. They say they found 23-year-old James Anthony Pruiett holding both a knife to a woman's side and nunchucks around her neck.
Police say Pruiett dropped the knife during the subsequent encounter, but began hitting the officers with the nunchucks. Sergeant Christopher Lambert retreated and shot Pruiett multiple times, allowing the officers to subdue Pruiett.
Pruiett and the officers all were taken to local hospitals to treat their injuries. The officers have been released.
Pruiett was arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and domestic abuse.
Lambert has been placed on routine administrative leave, pending the outcome of an investigation into the shooting.
