Power Picture Clearing Up Very Slowly

Updated:
PSO hopes to put a big dent in the power problem Sunday night. The News On 6’s Dan Bewley reports the area around 33rd & Peoria is one of the worst hit and could be one of the last to get power restored. As PSO focuses Sunday on the eastern part of the Tulsa area, several utility crews were found setting up shop in midtown.

A thank goodness sight at the corner of Utica and Terwilleger.

“They're kind of like the paper said, heroes coming into town,” said Frank Rhoades.

Utility workers are working perched atop power poles or working high from the cherry picker.

“I've been walking the neighborhood telling them how much I appreciate them coming in,” said Rhoades.

Frank Rhoades has been without power since Sunday, only a generator has been keeping him warm.

“He says it won't be long and we'll be back in business here real quick,” said Rhoades.

“You're thinking maybe today, is that what you're hoping?” asked Dan Bewley.

“I'm not going to be optimistic until I see the power actually on. You see these street lights go on and I'll be happy,” said Rhoades.

As for the PSO workers, they will stick to their plan.

“We will be restoring power to the northeastern quadrant of the city, the Catoosa area, and up in that direction today while we continue to work on all the other areas of the city as well,” said PSO’s Ed Bettinger.

Back in the neighborhood, Frank Rhoades is hoping his generator won't be needed much longer and he's never been more excited to see a bunch of Ohioans.
