MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Adrian Peterson, meet, Adrian Peterson.

The two players with the same first and last name faced off as featured running backs Monday night when the Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears.

It's the first time the duo's faced off for their respective teams.

They aren't related and they sport far different styles, backgrounds and accomplishments.

And both dismiss the notion of any similarities, beyond their inescapable name.

But for the sake of the NFL's unofficial brotherhood Adrian Peterson of the Bears and Adrian Peterson of the Vikings find themselves quietly cheering for the other.

Any moral support, of course, is on hold this week.
