Suspect Caught In College Student Slaying

EL DORADO, Kan. (AP) -- A suspect is in custody in the Kansas slaying of a college student who led a secret life as an Internet porn performer. Authorities say Israel Mireles was arrested Wednesday in Mexico on a homicide warrant from Kansas. He's being held there, pending extradition.

The college student, Emily Sander, was last seen alive on November 23rd, leaving a bar in Kansas with a man police identify as Mireles.

Her disappearance drew nationwide attention after the discovery that she led a secret life as an Internet porn model named Zoey Zane. Her body was found six days later, about 50 miles from where she was last seen.

Mireles became the focus of the investigation after police near Wichita found large amounts of blood in a motel room where he had been staying.

Police say Sander's Internet activity had no connection to her disappearance.
