A man has died after being shot in the torso Friday night, said police. According to authorities Mark Louie and an unidentified woman were stopped on the street, near 2200 N. Main, and were talking from their cars when another man, identified as Kevin Stewart, drove up. According to police Stewart started an argument and he and Louie fought in the street. Stewart then pulled a gun and opened fire, authorities say.
Witnesses say they heard several shots, but Louie was shot only once in the torso. The 47-year-old was transported to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition, he later died.
The suspect, 44-year-old Kevin Stewart, was apparently the woman’s ex-boyfriend. He surrendered to police and told them where to find the gun used in the shooting, authorities said. But that wasn't the only weapon police recovered. Officers found two weapons, one they believe was Stewart’s, the other they think was Louie’s
"Right now the circumstances of how this shooting took place, and why both subjects had weapons, it's too early to say how that exactly happened,†said Captain Steve Bayles with the Tulsa Police Department.
The motive in the shooting is unknown, and police are still investigating.
