MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- McIntosh County Sheriff's deputies have arrested former Oklahoma quarterback Jamelle Holieway on a misdemeanor complaint of possession of marijuana. Deputy Tim Turner says the 40-year-old Holieway about 2:30 a.m. Saturday after a traffic stop in Eufaula.

Holieway played for Oklahoma from 1985 to 1988 and was the starting quarterback on the Sooners' 1985 team that won the national title. He remains the only true freshman quarterback in NCAA Division 1A history to start for a national-championship team.

He now works as a sales representative for a Wilburton-based company, Oklahoma Healthcare Solutions.

Holieway was booked into the McIntosh County jail before being released on bond. He has a district-court hearing for an arraignment scheduled for Tuesday.
