The latest Oklahoma Poll shows the economy will be top of mind for many voters on Super Tuesday.
Our poll with the Tulsa World asked 750 likely voters to list their most important issues in voting for a president. 22% of the respondents said it is the economy and 19% said it is the war in Iraq. No other single issue came close.
The economy has grown dramatically as a key issue for Oklahoma voters. In an Oklahoma Poll conducted last April, only 8% said it was the most important issue in choosing a president. By December, it had grown to 11% and now it's 22%.
Over that same period, the war in Iraq has dropped from 32% to 19% in importance for Oklahoma voters.
