Oklahomans are clearly worried about the national and local economy, and it's starting to affect their lifestyle and spending habits.  The latest Oklahoma Poll from The News On 6 and the Tulsa World reveals a growing concern about the economy's direction.  It's probably no surprise that 73% say the national economy is getting worse, but it also seems to be having a ripple effect locally.

The poll shows 46% say Oklahoma's economy is getting worse, while only 24% say it's getting better.  Twenty-six percent say it's about the same.

Regarding their personal economic situation, about 10% more people say it's getting worse than getting better and the sluggish economy is changing people's habits.

Fifty-nine percent now say they have changed their driving habits to save money on gas.  Thirty-eight percent say they have made no change.

It's hitting the pocketbook in other ways too. Sixty-three percent of people in the poll say they've lowered their thermostat to save money.  Thirty-five percent say they've made no change.

It's closer when it comes to groceries.  About the same number of people say they've changed their habits as those who say they haven't.
