Clean-up crews are braving inclement weather to continue removing tree debris left over from December's ice storm. 76 hauling trucks and seven tree-trimming trucks hit Tulsa streets on Monday.

So far, crews have hauled 1.769 million cubic yards of debris in 35 days. The city says that is more than twice the amount of debris expected in the initial damage estimates. At the time crews estimated 800,000 yards of debris would need to be cleaned-up. This number has increased to at least 3 million cubic yards.

The contractor hired by the city to remove debris, SRS Inc., is still in their first round of debris removal. The beginning of the second and third passes will be announced on the City of Tulsa website.

The Mayor's Action Center is getting calls from residents who believe their properties were skipped during the first pass. In many locations, officials say debris could not be removed because of obstructions. Obstructions include parked vehicles, structures, electrical lines, or standing trees blocking access. Crews say efforts will be made to collect any missed debris.

Anyone with questions or who believes their property was missed when haulers worked on their streets can report it to the Mayor's Action Center at 596-2100.
