Northeast Oklahoma is loaded with must-see landmarks, like the Golden Driller, the Blue Whale in Catoosa, and the World's Largest McDonald's in Vinita. The News On 6's Rick Wells reports there's another landmark that's a little more off the beaten path. It's an accidental landmark in northern Rogers County.

Oologah, in northern Rogers County, is known as the birthplace of Will Rogers, but I was looking for another landmark.

Danny Corlett lives there with his family. They own land on both sides of Highway 169. He said a cement truck turned over in the area. The company came and got the truck part, but left the tank full of cement. It was too heavy to move apparently because it is still there. Corlett thinks the accident happened in the early 70's. Some others say late 60's.

Danny works cattle near the mixer tank and occasionally sees someone stop.

For most of its life this accidental roadside landmark has provided an easy target for anyone with a spray can. Danny says many have used it as a spot to declare their love for someone.

There are lots of stories about the roadside curiosity. One was a plan to move it. That idea was nixed by a former county commissioner who said he proposed to his wife there.

The roadside cement mixer is on Winganon Road, north of Talala east of Highway 169.
