Girl Sells 1,000 Boxes Of Cookies

Doctors gave an Okmulgee girl less than 24 hours to live. Now, nine years later she is still triumphing every day over a rare condition. Born without ribs, life is still a struggle for Zandra Longnecker.

But, one of her favorite treats is selling Girl Scout cookies. The News On 6 caught up with Zandra on Monday as she set up shop in a retirement home. Zandra has to use a breathing tube and is frequently in the hospital.

"She has to go twice a year to San Antonio to get titanium rib surgeries. Basically, her ribs are giving her a bear hug and she can't breathe," said Bobbi Longnecker, Zandra's Mom.

Zandra met her personal goal of selling 1,000 boxes of cookies and will receive an iPod as a prize.
