Veteran Eugene Kuhlmann has an old gold tooth from his days in the Air Force. He's decided it's sentimental value is outweighed by today's high gold prices.

"Yeah, I didn't need it and it was just sitting around in my dresser, so with gold prices up around a thousand dollars an ounce I came in to sell it," said Kuhlmann.

Mike Anderson of Tulsa Gold and Silver says it is a great time to sell gold and people like Kuhlmann prove it.

"Oh, a lot of activity, a lot of people coming in with just their scrap jewelry, people coming in with things they've just had in their drawer. They come in because it's tripled in the past couple of years," said Anderson.

With gold prices at record levels, Dan Wiley of ‘Diamond and Jewelry Buyers' says people are digging deeper.

"They're pulling out their old class rings and wedding bands, big diamonds are bringing premium, gold's bringing a premium, silver's bringing a premium. It's a terrific time to sell," said Wiley.

The gold in Kuhlmann's gold tooth was worth $154 an ounce in 1975. But what is it worth today?

"She told me it was worth $20, so I sold it. The Air Force put it and I kept it all these years, and when they pulled it out I figured I'd sell it and make a little profit on it. Wasn't much but I made a little bit on it," said Kuhlmann.
