YWCA To Re-Open After Child Walk Out

DHS shut down the daycare after three kids under 4-years-old wandered away from the building on Friday.

The Department of Human Services ordered the recently shut down the YWCA child center at 17th & Memorial be re-opened immediately. DHS shut down the daycare after three kids under 4-years-old wandered away from the building on Friday. The children were found safe several blocks away at a Sonic Drive-In.

Social workers say they're impressed by the steps the YWCA took to make sure the same thing won't happen again.

The school will start providing services as usual Thursday morning.
