He coached one of the all-time great comebacks in tournament finals play Monday night. Now might Kansas' Bill Self be the one to lead a comeback for Oklahoma State's troubled basketball program? News On 6's Steve Berg reports there's no question the Cowboy's could use a little self-esteem right now. And they think Self's the man to restore the Pokes' pride.

He hasn't said he's coming. They haven't even made him an offer yet. But, Self already has fans in Stillwater.

"I love Bill Self. When he comes to the games, and they announce his name, everybody cheers," said OSU Student, Justin Lollman.

But, it's safe to say he's pretty well liked in Kansas too.

"I don't know. I think after winning this national championship, it's going to be a little harder for us to get a hold of him," said Lollman.

"He just won a national championship. So I think he's going to stay where he's at," said OSU Student, Mattie McLaughlin.

On the other hand, some argue that it's so difficult to repeat in today's college game, there's nowhere for Self to go in Kansas but down.

"Basically once you win a national championship at a school, your job there is done," said OSU Student, John Staats.

Fans figure there are probably a few things that would draw Self to OSU. It's his alma mater. This is where he met his wife when he went to college. And let's face it, there's also the little matter of money.

"If it gets down to a bidding war, I think we're going to win," said Lollman.

"We offered him money, tons of money. And his family's here. So, I don't see why he wouldn't be coming over here," said OSU Student, Elizabeth Fenner.

"He just kind of kept dropping subtle hints. So, it's just one of those things where anything could happen," said OSU Student, John Staats.

After watching the Jayhawks cut down the nets, you can't blame Cowboy fans for feeling a little selfish.

"I say come on back home Bill," said OSU Student, Rusty Wallace.

Self is so top-of-mind right now that students had trouble coming up with any other coaching names for their wish list. But, a couple were Minnesota coach and former TU coach Tubby Smith and Xavier coach Sean Miller.

The rumor is that Self could get a record-high salary offer from OSU.
