Copper Thief Caught On Tape

A thief is caught on tape stealing copper wire from a Tulsa repair shop.  Video from Sunday night showed the man walking around the business, but police believe it's the sixth time that man has broken in to steal copper wiring from the business in the 800 block of South Wheeling.

Officers say copper commands top dollar, but some local buyers are getting wise to the black market copper business.

"A lot of our local salvages here, they cooperate with us with getting identification with people bringing in large amounts of copper wiring in, but very well, they could be going outside the area to get rid of copper wiring," said Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley.
