Two people are hospitalized after they are shot overnight in Tulsa.

The shooting happened at the Observation Point Apartments at 41st and 130th East Avenue shortly before midnight.  Tulsa Police say a group of juveniles went to the apartment complex looking to buy some drugs.

A man approached their vehicle and when the transaction went bad, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded money, police said.  According to officers, as the juveniles tried to leave, the suspect fired several rounds, hitting the driver and a passenger in the vehicle.

The victim drove to a nearby QuikTrip for help.

"Anytime you engage in illegal activity, like this, you place yourself in a position that's very dangerous because you don't know the element you are encountering," said Tulsa Police Captain Jonathan Brooks.

The driver was shot twice in the chest and the passenger once in the stomach.

Tulsa Police believe they know who the suspect is, but are still searching them.
