If you were to build a city, what would it look like and what would be in it?  The News On 6's Rick Wells reports that was the task presented to students at Patrick Henry Elementary School.

The students are planning, designing, and constructing buildings for their city.  Dyllan and McCala came up with Perfecto Food.  It's an Italian restaurant. There's a flower shop.  There is another pizza place.

The 4th graders at Patrick Henry are putting the finishing touches on their shops and businesses which will become part of Henryville.  The town is taking shape in the gym.

"These are mainly the 5th grade buildings that are in here now," said architect Megan Johnson.

Megan Johnson is an architect with Selser Schaefer Architects.  The firm is Patrick Henry's partner in education.

"We're a group of architects.  We're a relatively creative group.  We need to do something more than just come read to classes," said architect Bill Savage.

All the grades have contributed something to the project.  Even some parent volunteers like Angie Sparkman.

The real architects helped with the layout and served as design consultants.

There's a museum and a prison because even cardboard cities will have some bad guys.  The airport and train station are together in a transportation complex.  And, there are plenty of hotels and a downtown football stadium with luxury boxes.  The city seems to have everything.

Henryville, at Patrick Henry Elementary on East 41st Street, will be open to the public Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.
